Author guidelines:

The Journal of Vygotskian Research follows the latest edition of the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (APA, 7th edition) for formatting and referencing. Authors are expected to adhere to the APA style guidelines when preparing their manuscripts for submission and publication. The following are some general points to note:

  2. Use one-inch margins on all sides of the paper and align the text to the left margin.
  3. Include a page header (or running head) at the top of every page, consisting of a shortened version of your title in capital letters, followed by the page number. The page header should not exceed 50 characters, including spaces and punctuation.
  4. Include a title page with the following information: the full title of your paper, your name, your affiliation, an author note (if applicable), and a conflict of interest statement (if applicable).
  5. Include an abstract on a separate page after the title page. The abstract should be a concise summary of your paper, not exceeding 250 words. It should include the main points of your introduction, method, results, and discussion sections. List 3-5 keywords below the abstract.
  6. Use headings and subheadings to organize your paper into sections and subsections. Follow the APA style guidelines for formatting different levels of headings.
  7. Cite your sources in the text using the author-date method. For example: (Vygotsky, 1978) or Vygotsky (1978). If you are citing a direct quotation, include the page number as well. For example: (Vygotsky, 1978, p. 86) or Vygotsky (1978, p. 86).
  8. Provide a reference list at the end of your paper on a separate page. The reference list should include all the sources that you cited in the text, arranged alphabetically by the authors’ last names. Follow the APA style guidelines for formatting different types of references, such as books, journal articles, websites, etc.
  9. Use tables and figures to present your data and results clearly and effectively. Number your tables and figures consecutively and give them descriptive titles. Refer to them in the text by their numbers. Place them either within the text or at the end of your paper on separate pages. Follow the APA style guidelines for formatting tables and figures.
